Astilleros Zamacona, S.A. was founded in 1914 during a time of industrial boom in Vizcaya.  The shipyard was busy constructing steam powered and sailing vessels.  The shipyard is engaged in the business of newbuilding and repairs on the North Coast of Spain, near the city of Bilbao.

Additional facilities are also located on the Canary Islands.

 The shipyard employs modern methods of production which have resulted in lower costs, quality improvement and reduced delivery times.
